Moneygram Poker

MoneyGram Poker

MoneyGram is located in the United States and was founded well over 60 years ago in 1940 – making it an old and very established company in the financial industry. MoneyGram has recently expanded to create an e-payment service that allows their users to send and receive money. MoneyGram are always innovating and in 2009, they signed a deal with Affinity Global Services to allow money to be sent and received via mobile devices such as mobile phones.

How MoneyGram Works

MoneyGram is a unique service because their users are not required to start an account online. Poker players wishing to deposit using MoneyGram need to find a MoneyGram agent through their “find us” page, which can be found on MoneyGram.com. Players must then go to that agent with some personal identification.  Once a user has proven their identification, they must complete a send form by filling in all the information accurately on that form.

Players will incur a transfer fee when sending money through MoneyGram. After players have completed their send form, they will be given a unique reference number – which they must then send to the poker room they wish to deposit in. Players must ensure that they keep this unique reference number safe. If this number is lost, then the transaction cannot go through. After the poker room has verified the funds, they will receive it into their account instantly.

Why Poker Players Use MoneyGram

Players tend to use MoneyGram because of the security that it adds to a player’s deposit. Some players worry about giving away their banking and other sensitive information away over the internet to a poker site. MoneyGram solves this problem because players only have to give the poker room their reference number, which will deposit the specific amount into players online poker account.

MoneyGram also is one of the few deposit options that allows players to deposit a lot of money into their poker account at one time. For the everyday player, a $300 to $500 limit is enough.  However, for the serious poker player, they typically want to deposit thousands of dollars into their poker account at a time.  MoneyGram facilitates this desire with ease. MoneyGram also use the highest level of security when dealing with their customer’s orders and money transfers. Players should note that as they start to send higher amounts of money they would have to bring more verification to conduct each transaction.

Poker Rooms Accepting MoneyGram for Deposits

Many of the top online poker rooms do not now accept MoneyGram as a deposit option. PokerStars use to offer MoneyGram as a deposit option to players. However, they have stopped offering MoneyGram as one of their deposit options to players. Ultimate Bet, Absolute Poker, Cake Poker and Doyles Room do still accept Moneygram deposits.
